Summary
The State Broker & Broker of Record is responsible for leading state-level compliance, agent support, risk management, and responsible growth across the State to ensure brokerage operations remain compliant with company standards, state laws, licensing requirements, and regulatory guidelines. This role supports Fathom Realty agents and leaders by providing guidance on contracts, forms, disclosures, and complex transaction matters; monitoring regulatory and MLS changes; overseeing compliance training, complaints, audits, and risk matters; and promoting agent accountability and success. The State Broker & Broker of Record contributes to Fathom Realty’s continued growth by protecting the brokerage and the consumers we serve, developing and supporting agents, and collaborating with national leadership and operational teams while maintaining a high level of integrity, professionalism, communication, accountability, and solutions-focused leadership.
Job Responsibilities
- Serve as the State Broker and Broker of Record for Fathom Realty, maintaining all required licenses and regulatory qualifications.
- Provide state-level compliance leadership and ensure brokerage operations comply with applicable state laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies.
- Guide agents and leaders on contracts, forms, disclosures, transaction requirements, and complex real estate matters.
- Review and interpret changes to state real estate laws, commission rules, licensing requirements, forms, and MLS policies.
- Communicate regulatory and compliance updates clearly and timely to agents, leaders, and internal teams.
- Develop and lead quarterly forms, contracts, and compliance training to support agent knowledge and reduce brokerage risk.
- Coach and support agents through transaction-related questions and challenges while maintaining appropriate accountability and compliance standards.
- Oversee and assist with complaints, audits, regulatory inquiries, licensing matters, and other compliance-related issues.
- Identify potential compliance and transaction risks and take appropriate action to protect consumers, agents, and the brokerage.
- Maintain accurate documentation and records related to compliance, regulatory matters, complaints, audits, and broker supervision.
- Collaborate with national leadership, operations, compliance, growth, and other internal teams to support company initiatives and statewide operations.
- Support agent retention and productivity by providing responsive, knowledgeable, and solutions-focused broker support.
- Partner with leadership to support responsible recruiting and sustainable growth throughout [State].
- Build strong relationships with agents and leaders while promoting professionalism, ethical business practices, and Fathom Realty standards.
- Demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication when working with agents, leadership, regulatory organizations, and external partners.
- Maintain exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, confidentiality, and strong attention to detail.
- Perform other related duties and special projects as assigned.
Required Skills
- Active real estate broker license and eligibility to serve as Broker of Record.
- Strong knowledge of Specific State real estate laws, regulations, contracts, forms, disclosures, licensing requirements, and MLS policies.
- Proven understanding of brokerage compliance, risk management, and broker supervision.
- Ability to interpret regulatory requirements and provide clear, practical guidance to agents and leaders.
- Strong leadership, coaching, training, and agent support skills.
